For Affiliates - Creating links that you can add to your website

This ensures that you earn commissions whether or not your customers use discount codes.

1. Logging into the Affiliate Dashboard

  • Affiliates first need to log into their Uppromote affiliate dashboard (the unique portal link provided by the merchant - Keriden Fuels).
  • Once inside, you’ll see different tools, including links for promotions, discount codes (if provided), and a link generator.

2. Finding the Affiliate Link Generator

  • In the “Affiliate Tools” section, there is usually a “Link Generator”.
  • By default, Uppromote provides each affiliate with a general referral link that points to the store homepage. This tracks all traffic and sales coming from the affiliate.

3. Creating Affiliate Links for Specific Products

Affiliates can make links that lead directly to individual products or collections of products: The text in orange refers to live examples pertaining to our website.

  1. Go to the Merchant’s Storefront - https://shop.keriden-fuels.com
    • Open the store’s website in a new tab.
    • Find the exact product page (or collection of products page - eg. https://shop.keriden-fuels.com/pages/firewood) you want to promote.
  2. Copy the URL
    • Copy the full link from the browser’s address bar (e.g., https://merchantstore.com/products/awesome-product). https://shop.keriden-fuels.com/products/kd-firewood-convenience-box-1-2m
  3. Paste the URL into the Link Generator
    • In the affiliate dashboard, paste the copied link into the “Link Generator” field.
    • Uppromote will automatically append the affiliate’s unique referral ID to the end of the link.
    • The output will look something like: https://merchantstore.com/products/awesome-product?ref=affiliateID https://shop.keriden-fuels.com/products/kd-firewood-convenience-box-1-2m?sca_ref=9215495.S7UFxCpuY5Yb6SX

  1. Or you can search for a product or browse the product list
  2. Copy the Generated Affiliate Link
    • This is now the custom tracking link that affiliates should use for that product.
    • Any customer who clicks this link will be tracked, and the affiliate will receive commission on their purchase — even if the customers forget to use the discount code.

4. Adding Links to Their Website

Affiliates can now place these links on your sites in several ways:

  • Hyperlink text:
    Example: <a href="https://merchantstore.com/products/awesome-product?ref=affiliateID">Check out this Awesome Product</a>

  • Clickable image banners:
    Example:

<a href="https://merchantstore.com/products/awesome-product?ref=affiliateID">
  <img src="https://merchantstore.com/path-to-product-image.jpg" alt="Awesome Product">
</a>

  • Buttons (using simple CSS or website builder tools like WordPress/Wix/Shopify page builders).

5. Ensuring Commissions Track Correctly

  • When customers click the affiliate link, Uppromote drops a tracking cookie in their browser.
  • Even if the customer forgets to enter the affiliate’s discount code, the cookie ensures the affiliate still gets paid if the purchase is completed within the tracking window (default is usually 30 days, but depends on merchant settings).
  • Affiliates can monitor clicks, orders, and commissions from their dashboard.
